Anna Larsson has successfully created the roles of, among others, Kundry, Erda, Waltraute, Orphée, Fricka, Dalilah, Lucretia, Klytaimnestra, Gaea, Carmen and Zia Principessa at theaters including Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerischer Staatsoper, Festspiele Salzburg and Aix-en-Provence, the Royal Opera House in London, Teatro Maggio Musicale Firenze, La Monnaie Brussels, Palau des Arts Valencia, Royal Opera Copenhagen, Finnish National Opera and Drottningholm Court Theatre, Dalhalla and the Royal Opera in Stockholm.
In concert, Anna Larsson is rightly justifying her position internationally as the premier, and most consummate interpreter of Gustav Mahler's works. She regularly sings with all the great orchestras; Berliner Philharmoniker, Lucerne Festival Orchestra, New York Philharmonics, Wiener Philharmoniker. The Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, London Symphony, and London Philharmonic orchestras.
She sings almost the entire concert repertoire for contralto/mezzo-soprano and orchestra, with the most illustrious conductors including Mehta, Salonen, Harding, Jurowski, Rattle, Pappano, Dudamel, Osawa, Wigglesworth, Manacorda, Albrecht, Haenchen, Gilbert, Adam, and Ivan Fischer.
In December 2010 Anna Larsson was appointed Court singer by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, and she has been rewarded two Golden Royal Medals. In 2011 she opened her own concert house, Vattnäs Concert Barn, in the village Vattnäs near Mora in Dalecarlia.
In 2017 she sang Kundry in Parsifal at Berliner Staatsoper and Waltraute in Götterdämmerung in Mupa Budapest, Klytämnestra at Verbier Festival Genevieve at Opera National de Paris, and in 2018 she sang Waldtaube in Gurrelieder in Amsterdam Opera and Genevieve in Pelleas et mélisande at Berliner Staatsoper.
In Wiener Staatsoper she sang Klytaimnästra in Strauss Elektra, Erda in Rheingold and Siegfried, and Waltraute in Götterdämmerung. She sang Erda in Das Rheingold and Siegfried in Berliner Staatsoper and Zia Principessa in Il Trittico at Covent Garden, Bizet´s Carmen in Dalhalla and Ms Quickly in Falstaff at Frankfurt Opera.
The season 2019-20 for Anna incuded Mahler with Gustavo Dudamel and LA Philharmonic Orchestra, Erda in Rheingold and Siegfried with Daniel Barenboim in Staatsoper Berlin, Mahler with Eschenbach in Madrid and Stockholm and Wagner Das Rheingold in Moscow with Vladimir Jurovski. The spring -20 included, among other things.
The Which in Dvoraks Rusalka in Amsterdam Opera (canceled and postponed to spring 2023) and recitals with concert pianist Francisca Skoogh. Most of her engagements 2020-2021 are postponed into the future because of the pandemic.
