Erik has lately being a member of the International Opera Studio at Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin, since Autumn 2018. He is also part of Barbara Hannigan's collaboration project Equilibrium Young Artists. From now on he is a freelance singer.
Erik started singing in the Stockholm Boys’ Choir at the age of 8, and studied at the renowned choir school Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser. Since 2014, he holds a bachelor degree in classical singing from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and in 2017 he graduated from the University College of Opera in Stockholm.
During the last year, he has been singing in performances like Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Nachtwächter), conducted by Daniel Barenboim and Strauss’ Die Frau ohne Schatten (Wächter der Stadt) under Simone Young at Staatsoper unter den Linden. He also sang in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress (Father Trulove), conducted by Barbara Hannigan in Gothenburg and on a European tour. He was singing at the Royal Opera in Stockholm during the seasons 2016/17/18 in Strauss’ Salome (Fünfter Jude) under Lawrence Renesand in operas for children like Ramström’s Den långa, långa resan and Brommares Min bror är Don Juan, an edited edition of Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
In the summer of 2018 he sang Osmin in Opera Warbergs production of Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail. He won the 2nd prize in Hjördis Schymberg Award 2018. Erik is often hired for oratorios and has received scholarships such as The Royal Academy of Music Stockholm Scholarship and the Royal Opera in Stockholm Scholarship. In season 2021-22 Erik is a member of Gothenburg Opera with performed roles as Angelotti in Tosca and Ceprano in Rigoletto among other roles. In summer 2022 he will participate in Don Giovanni at Opera Warberg. In season 2022-23 he will sing Truffaldin in Ariadne auf Naxos and 5th Jew in Salome at The Royal Opera in Stockholm.
