Cecilia Martin-Löf, born 1974, is a freelance conductor. She began her studies at the Ingesund Academy of Music, majoring in piano and orchestral conducting, but due to her growing interest in choral music applied to the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, where she took a diploma in choral conducting under professor Anders Eby in 2006. In her work, Cecilia strives to combine her great love for literature and especially poetry with the rich colors and technical precision of the choir at the highest level. During her time as a professional, she has had an extensive career and led a long line of choirs, including in Uppsala Cathedral, the YMCA chamber choir in Stockholm and as choirmaster for the Gävle Symphony Orchestra. As a freelance conductor, she has met the radio choirs in both Stockholm and Copenhagen, worked as choirmaster for the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and had guest assignments in Germany and Italy. Today, Cecilia is responsible for the choral activities at Lund University, where she leads the ensembles Lund Academic Choir and Palaestra Vocal Ensemble, and also teaches choral conducting at the Academy of Music in Malmö. She is a sought-after teacher and conductor both in Sweden and in the rest of Europe.
