Anna Larsson sings Klytämnestra in Elektra at Deutsche Oper in Berlin Feb 3 and 16.
Deutsche Oper Berlin takes its place on stage at the two concert performances on 3 and 16 February: the voices of great interpreters such as Catherine Foster (Elektra) and Anna Larsson (Klytämnestra) thus merge with the orchestra to create an overall symphonic experience.
We kindly ask you to note the following change in the programme: The performances of ELEKTRA on 3 and 16 February will be shown in concert. With a cast of over one hundred musicians, Richard Strauss' ELEKTRA is one of the most orchestrally demanding works in the entire opera literature. With eight clarinets and seven trumpets, Strauss pushes the boundaries of the Romantic orchestral apparatus to achieve a maximum of dramatic effect and psychological fine-detailing of the characters. To make this sound experience palpable, the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin takes its place on stage at the two concert performances on 3 and 16 February: the voices of great interpreters such as Catherine Foster (Elektra) and Anna Larsson (Klytämnestra) thus merge with the orchestra to create an overall symphonic experience.
