Already during his studies, he participated in several concerts and was constantly asked to be part of different opera projects in Scandinavia. He was the recipient of the prestigious Jenny Lind prize 2015, Anders Walls Giresta Prize 2014, and Birgit Nilssons scholarship 2018.
Tobias has sung roles such as Peter in Peters bryllup by J.P.A. Schults in the Potsdam Early Music Festival and Copenhagen Opera Festival, Ferrando in Cosi fan Tutte with The Sibelius Academy, and Don Ottavio My brother Don Juan at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. In the summer of 2015, Tobias had great success as the Young Jussi in Silverfågeln by Mats Larsson Gothe at the Vattnäs Concert Barn and later the same year he sang Graf Albert in Korngold’s Die Tote Stadt at Wermland Opera.
In 2016 Westman sang Gennaro in Malmö Operas production of Donizettis Lucretia Borgia and Boy in the production of Coco Chanel at Vattnäs Concert Barn. In 2017 he was reinvited to Malmö Opera to sing Pinkerton in Puccini's Madama Butterfly and also in 2018 as Gastone in Verdis Las Traviata.
In 2018 he sang Leif in Norrmalmstorgsdramat at Vattnäs Concert Barn. In summer 2019 he sang his first Tamino with great acclaim in Die Zauberflöte at Opera på skäret.
Our tenor Tobias Westman have been studying at the opera studio in Paris. Because of the pandemic, a lot of his performances have been canceled. Among them Gastone in La Traviata at Opéra National de Paris.
In 2021 he sang Male chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, Britten in Paris and Lísola disabitata, Generar, Haydn, Opera Dijon. Recently roles 2022 in Parsifal, Wozzeck and Die Zauberflöte at Opéra National de Paris. In summer 2022 he sang Tamino in Die Zauberflöte in Vattnäs Concert Barn.
